AWS infrastructure updates expand scale, reach, and multicloud options
AWS rolled out a set of platform updates spanning CloudWatch Logs, EMR Serverless, Managed Grafana, RDS for PostgreSQL, Connect Cases, Partner Central, and a new OCI interconnect preview.
AWS published a broad set of product updates covering observability, analytics, customer service workflows, database maintenance, partner sales tooling, and multicloud networking. Taken together, the announcements focus on reducing operational friction: larger query limits, more regional availability, simpler upgrades, more self-service actions for agents, faster partner opportunity creation, and a new preview for AWS-to-OCI connectivity.
CloudWatch Logs raises Logs Insights result limits
Amazon CloudWatch Logs now supports retrieving up to 100,000 results with the Logs Insights query language. Customers can set the desired cap with the LIMIT command.
Previously, the maximum was 10,000 results, which often meant splitting queries into smaller time ranges. AWS says customers can now use existing features such as patterns, visualization, and export on the full 100,000-result set.
The GetQueryResults API was also updated with pagination support. Each invocation can return up to 10,000 results plus a token for retrieving the next page. AWS says the increased query result limits are available in all commercial AWS Regions.
EMR Serverless expands into six more AWS Regions
Amazon EMR Serverless is now generally available in six additional Regions:
- Asia Pacific (Hyderabad)
- Asia Pacific (Malaysia)
- Asia Pacific (New Zealand)
- Asia Pacific (Taipei)
- Asia Pacific (Thailand)
- Mexico (Central)
AWS describes EMR Serverless as an Amazon EMR deployment option that lets data engineers and analysts run petabyte-scale analytics in the cloud without configuring, tuning, or managing clusters.
The service supports Apache Spark and Apache Hive applications, along with fine-grained automatic scaling, fast launch times, customizable worker configurations, and support for batch, interactive, and streaming workloads.
Managed Grafana adds in-place upgrade to version 12.4
Amazon Managed Grafana now supports an in-place upgrade from Grafana version 10.4 to 12.4 through the AWS Console, AWS SDK, or AWS CLI.
AWS highlights several capabilities in version 12.4, including:
- Grafana Scenes-powered dashboards for faster rendering
- Queryless Drilldown apps for point-and-click exploration of Prometheus metrics, Loki logs, Tempo traces, and Pyroscope profiles
- Amazon CloudWatch plugin enhancements with PPL/SQL query support
- Cross-account Metrics Insights support
- Log anomaly detection
- Rebuilt table visualization with CSS cell styling and interactive Actions buttons
- Trendline transformations and navigation bookmarks
RDS for PostgreSQL Extended Support releases new minor versions
Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL announced new Extended Support minor versions:
- 11.22-rds.20260224
- 12.22-rds.20260224
- 13.23-rds.20260224
AWS recommends upgrading to these versions to address known security vulnerabilities and bugs in prior PostgreSQL versions.
According to AWS, Amazon RDS Extended Support provides up to three additional years of critical security and bug fixes beyond a major version's end of standard support date, giving teams more time to complete major-version upgrades. Databases can be upgraded during scheduled maintenance windows using automatic minor version upgrades.
Amazon Connect Cases gives agents more direct control
Amazon Connect Cases now lets agents edit and delete related items, and delete cases directly from the agent workspace without administrator help.
AWS says agents can:
- Update comments
- Unlink contacts associated with the wrong case
- Delete cases opened in error
- Create, edit, and delete custom related items such as orders, returns, and invoices
The feature is available in these AWS Regions: US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), Canada (Central), Europe (Frankfurt), Europe (London), Asia Pacific (Seoul), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Sydney), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), and Africa (Cape Town).
AWS Partner Central agents streamline opportunity creation
AWS also updated AWS Partner Central agents so partners can create opportunities through natural language conversation instead of completing a multi-step form.
The AI-powered capabilities, built on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, were originally released on March 16, 2026. AWS says they help partners surface pipeline insights, advance deals with next-step recommendations, and identify funding opportunities.
With this update, partners can describe a deal in natural language, upload meeting notes, proposals, or call transcripts in formats including PDF, DOCX, Excel, and TXT, or clone an existing opportunity. The agent then extracts information and enriches customer details, reducing data-entry work for partner sales teams.
AWS Interconnect with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure enters preview
AWS announced the public preview of AWS Interconnect — multicloud with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
AWS positions the offering as a response to growing multicloud adoption driven by interoperability requirements, technology choice, and the need to build and deploy applications across environments with greater ease and speed.
AWS describes AWS Interconnect - multicloud as the first purpose-built product of its kind and a new way of how clouds connect.
The company contrasts the preview with do-it-yourself multicloud approaches that can create complexity when building and managing global, multi-layered networks at scale.
What ties these announcements together
While these updates span very different products, they share a common theme: making AWS services easier to operate at scale. In this batch alone, AWS increased observability query limits, expanded serverless analytics availability, simplified Grafana upgrades, extended PostgreSQL maintenance options, reduced admin dependency in customer service workflows, accelerated partner sales data capture, and previewed a managed path for AWS-OCI multicloud connectivity.
